Günther Schroeder-Printzen

Günther Schroeder-Printzen (born August 28, 1924 in Hamburg ; † June 27, 2011 ) was a German lawyer.

Career

After graduating from high school, Schroeder-Printzen did military service in the Navy from 1943 to 1945 during World War II . He then took up law studies in his hometown in 1946 . In 1950 he completed this with the first state examination. In 1952 he passed the second state examination. At the beginning of his professional career he was chamber chairman at the Bremen Regional Insurance Office . From January 1954 he worked as a judge at the social court in Bremen . In 1964 he moved to the State Social Court of Bremen as a judge . In May 1967 he was finally appointed judge at the Federal Social Court. At the BSG he was assigned to the 3rd Senate and thus dealt with the legal questions of statutory health insurance . He was also a member of the 6th Senate, where he dealt with the legal problems of statutory health insurance physicians. Since November 1973, he then worked as a judge in the 8th Senate, which was responsible for statutory accident insurance and child benefit law. After his appointment as presiding judge on February 1, 1976, he exercised this office in the 3rd and 6th Senate. He retired at the end of August 1990.

Schroeder-Printzen was also a member of the Presidium and Presidial Council and was a member of the BSG's documentation commission until 1989. From 1969 to 1972 he also held the function of the first judicial press officer of the BSG.

From a journalistic point of view, he appeared with a textbook on general administrative law that was published several times . He was also co-author and editor of comments to Sozialgerichtsgesetz and SGB X .

Schroeder-Printzen was the recipient of the Great Cross of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , which he received for his special services to jurisprudence and science in the social law area.
