Günther Wachtler

Günther Wachtler (* 1944 ) is a German sociologist .

Life

From 1966 to 1971 Wachtler studied sociology , economics and social psychology at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He then worked as a research assistant at the Munich Institute for Sociology and at the Collaborative Research Center 101 around Karl Martin Bolte . From 1976 to 1986 he was a scientific advisor at the Social Science Institute of the Bundeswehr (SOWI) in Munich. In 1978 he started with Bolte at the political science faculty of the University of Munich with the dissertation humanization of work and industrial sociology. A sociological analysis of historical ideas about humane work design for Dr. rer. pole. PhD. In 1986 he became professor for sociology and social psychology at the University of Wuppertal ; he retired in the winter semester 2009/10. His research focus is work , organizational and industrial sociology .
