Günther Weiß (born February 1, 1955 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Emerging from the youth of FC Bayern Munich , Weiß moved up to the professional team in 1974. In the Bundesliga , however, he was only used on June 7 and 14, 1975, on the last two game days of his premier season (in the 5-6 away defeat against Fortuna Düsseldorf and in the 0-1 home defeat against Hamburger SV ) . Without appearances he was able to celebrate the victories in the European Cup of National Champions in 1975 and 1976 and the World Cup victory in 1976 with Bayern .

After two years in Munich, he moved to the second division club SpVgg Bayreuth , for whom he played 40 league (1 goal) and four DFB Cup games (1 goal). In 1978 he moved to ASV Neumarkt in the Bayern League for a year and returned to the 2nd Bundesliga South in 1979 . For FV 04 Würzburg he completed his last of 28 league games on May 31, 1980 (42nd matchday) in the 2: 3 defeat in the home game against FC 08 Homburg . On September 22, 1979 (9th matchday), in the 3-0 win in the home game against VfR Bürstadt and on May 18, 1980 (40th matchday), in the 4-1 win in the home game against SV Röchling Völklingen he succeeded its only two gates.

White was for a while coach of the U-40 men's team at TSV Nandlstadt .
