European Champion Clubs' Cup 1973/74

The 1974/75 European Cup was the 20th edition of the competition. 30 club teams took part, including defending champions and German champions FC Bayern Munich, as well as 29 national champions from the previous season. For the GDR 1. FC Magdeburg took for Switzerland , FC Zurich and Austria part of SK VOEST Linz. The national champions from Albania and Italy were not at the start. The Italian champions Lazio had been suspended for one year due to the riots in the second round match of the 1973/74 UEFA Cup against Ipswich Town . The final was played on May 28, 1975 in the Prinzenpark in Paris .

mode

The participants played in a pure cup mode with (except for the finals) back and forth games for the crown of European club football. In the case of a tie, the higher number of goals scored away counted first; if there was also a tie, the second leg was extended and, if necessary, a penalty shoot-out was played immediately afterwards.
