Cork Celtic FC was an Irish football club based in Cork. The association existed from 1935 to 1979.
history
Under the name Evergreen United FC, the club was runner-up in 1953 and 1959, each behind Shamrock Rovers . The club was three times in the cup final (1953, 1964 and 1969), but lost each time in the replay.
Donald Leahy was the most successful player in the 1950s. He was the top scorer three times in a row .
In 1959 the club was renamed Cork Celtic FC. After 12th place in the 1972/73 season, the greatest success was achieved with the championship. After that, the club was only mediocre until the club withdrew from the game for financial reasons and was dissolved at the end of the 1978/79 season.
