Günzlhofen (formerly also Günzelhofen ) is a district of the municipality of Oberschweinbach in the Fürstenfeldbruck district .

history

The first documentary mention is 793/811 as Cundinchofa . A knightly family of the Günzelhofer can be traced back to around 1400 . In 1480 the seat and turn (tower) passed to the keeper of Schlanders , Jeronim Perwanger. In 1485 he received the court march justice for Günzlhofen. In 1527, Augustin Perwanger von Günzlhofen, the lord of the court march, and his brother Christoph were beheaded as an Anabaptist in Munich. As early as 1559 there was a school in the village. From 1595 to 1825 the Hofmark belonged to the von Imhoff family . The stately Renaissance castle was demolished at the end of the 18th century .

On July 1, 1972, Günzlhofen was incorporated into the municipality of Oberschweinbach.

Attractions

  • The Church of St. Margareth is a late Gothic building that was converted to Baroque style in the 17th century. It contains some valuable epitaphs ; the ceiling painting “Transfiguration of St. Margaretha ”was created in 1931 by the painter Oswald Völkel .

  • Günzlhofen is the hometown of the Bavarian music and cabaret groups Biermösl Blosn and Wellküren .
  • Traudl Well (1919–2015), folk musician and honorary citizen of Oberschweinbach, lived in Günzlhofen since 1956
