Life
Aldo was fascinated by travel from a young age, and in 1923 he went to France to become an actor. He got several stage engagements and an appearance in the film L'ile d'amour in 1928 . But he worked there primarily as a photographer. In the late 1930s he became a camera operator; his first film in this capacity is L'Empreinte de Dieu from 1939. He fled the German occupation to Nice, where he met Michelangelo Antonioni , who brought him back to Italy. There Graziati developed into one of the key figures of neorealism . Now often working under the stage name "Aldò", his flair for aesthetic recordings was noticeable, as well as his admiration for Caravaggio . He worked with the most important directors of his time.
Aldo died during the filming of longing by Lucchino Visconti in a car accident.
