GE Money is the financial services provider of the US company General Electric .
GE Money is part of the GE Consumer Finance division and has over 130 million customers in over 55 countries with over 150,000 branches worldwide. Total assets in 2005 amounted to over 163 billion US dollars or 129 billion euros .
In Switzerland which was until 2013 GE Money Bank active, it operates there, but since the IPO as Cembra Money Bank . The German and Austrian branches were merged with the Santander Consumer Bank (Germany) and Santander Consumer Bank (Austria) of Santander Consumer Finance on July 1, 2009 . The German GE Money Bank GmbH was based in Hanover .
