Gašpar Mašek

Gašpar Mašek (born January 6, 1794 in Prague , † May 13, 1873 in Ljubljana ) was a Czech composer .

Vincenc Mašek's son was a military bandmaster in Russia from 1813 to 1815. In 1819 he became theater music director in Graz and in 1820 in Ljubljana. Until 1854 he also taught at the music school of the Philharmonic Society of Ljubljana.

He composed two operas , one operetta , church music , cantatas and choral works. His son Kamilo Mašek also became known as a composer.
