Gabi Molitor , actually Helga Gabriele Molitor (born April 1, 1962 in Cologne ), is a German politician ( FDP ) and was a member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2013 .

Life

education and profession

Molitor completed his studies in journalism and communication science in Münster in 1988 with a Magister Artium . From 1989 to 1998 she worked in various positions as a press officer for the FDP, most recently in the Bundestag office of the Federal Minister of Economics Helmut Haussmann . She has been working as a freelance journalist since 1998 and runs a PR agency. Since May 2015 she has been Head of Communication at the University of Witten / Herdecke .

Political party

Molitor is chairwoman of the FDP-NRW state committee for children, youth, family and integration. She is an assessor in the state board of the FDP-NRW and as secretary member of the board of the FDP district Cologne-Bonn. She is deputy chairwoman of the Rhein-Erft district association.

MPs

In 2005 Molitor ran for the first time for the German Bundestag . In the 2009 Bundestag election she achieved a seat in the German Bundestag with 11.9% in the Bundestag constituency Euskirchen - Erftkreis II (constituency 93) over 18th place on the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia of her party . Molitor was Vice-Chair of the Committee on European Union Affairs , a full member of the Committee on Health and a deputy member of the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs . In the cross-party negotiations on the revision of the law on organ donation in spring 2012, she took over the lead of the negotiations for the FDP parliamentary group. As a representative of the FDP parliamentary group, Molitor was a member of the RTL Television program committee . She no longer belongs to the German Bundestag in the 18th electoral term.

Molitor has been a city councilor in Erftstadt's city ​​council since 2004 .

Political positions

  • Organ donation : Molitor has repeatedly spoken out in favor of maintaining the voluntary nature of post-mortem organ donation. During the negotiations on the revision of the Transplantation Act in spring 2012, she countered demands for an objection regulation.
  • Pre-implantation diagnosis (PGD): Of the three intergroup drafts on approval for PGD in spring 2012, Molitor specifically supported the most extensive draft that was ultimately approved by the Bundestag, which provides for limited approval of PGD.
  • Inclusion : In addition to the expansion of inclusive offers in education and working life, Molitor also calls for special schools to continue to exist. The best interests of the child are decisive. As many children with disabilities as possible are to be taught in mainstream schools and the range of special schools to be expanded. Molitor also represents this claim in the field of work, where in addition to workshops and integration companies, the first labor market for people with disabilities must be opened up.
  • European Fiscal Compact : Molitor spoke out in favor of strict budget consolidation and a clearer target agreement for the European Union. She approved the draft laws to implement the Fiscal Compact.

Molitor is a Protestant, married and has two children. She lives in Erftstadt.
