from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gabriel Löw Fränkel (also Gabriel Levi , born around 1640 in Fürth ; died June 26, 1710 in Bamberg ) was the head of the Jewish community in Fürth and court factor .

Gabriel Fränkel's family had been resident in Fürth for a long time, did not belong to the migrants from Vienna 1670 and was not related to Elkan Fränkel . He became wealthy as a court Jew in the Bamberg diocese and founded a training school ( Klaus ) in Fürth to study Jewish scriptures, from which a private synagogue developed. References to Fränkel's religious roots and his business can also be found at Glückl von Hameln .

Bärmann Fränkel was chief rabbi in Fürth from 1700 to 1708 . His grandchildren were state rabbis of Ansbach and court Jews in Ansbach.
