Gabriele Clonisch (* 11 June 1947 in Upper Bavaria ), also known under the stage name Gabriele and Susi Ball , is a former German pop singer and a child star .

Life

She grew up with her three older brothers in Kochel am See, Upper Bavaria , and after many applauded vocal performances at festivities, she began to sing ambitiously at festivities and made her first recordings on the dictation machine of her father, a businessman. The Viennese music producer of the Polydor , Gerhard Mendelson , was made aware of her by Karl Michalsky, whom father Clonisch had visited on Bayerischer Rundfunk , and tried to develop her as a new child star, following the example of Cornelia Froboess, who had grown up as a teenager . Among other things, he produced the rock'n'roll title Chocolate Ice Cream with her , which landed in the charts and sold over 250,000 times. In 1959, to the chagrin of the officials of the Munich Ministry of Culture , Gabriele was out and about all year round with interruptions: ten days at the Deutsches Theater in Munich , then a week in Mannheim and Basel, during Easter a tour with Conny, in July a bath tour, then the Berlin Waldbühne and the even larger Olympic Stadium in Berlin and finally, at the end of the year, participation in the notorious rock'n'roll tour because of the “hooligans battles”. That same year, the then 12-year-old sang with Louis Armstrong the Anglo-German duo Uncle Satchmo's Lullaby , which is also in the film La Paloma by Paul Martin appeared. Further film productions, radio and television appearances followed, including with Fredy Brock , and a tour with Max Greger . At the end of 1961, titles with her reappeared in the charts. In 1963 she made the last recordings under the artist name "Susi Ball". Then she withdrew from the public.

In addition to her work as a singer, she also trained figure skating . After graduating from high school, she studied languages, got married and now lives in Italy.
