Gabriele Rico
Gabriele Lusser Rico (born July 11, 1937 in Augsburg ; † March 15, 2013 in Cupertino , California ) was an American lecturer in English and art education at San José State University and an influential writing teacher and author.
Life
She was a daughter of the German aircraft developer Robert Lusser from his first marriage. Her mother, Hildegard Fichter, was killed in a bomb drop in 1945. Gabriele Lusser lived in the USA since 1948 . She is best known for her dissertation Writing The Natural Way (German: Learn to write guaranteed ). In this book she developed clustering as a basic method of creative writing .
She received her PhD from Stanford University in 1976 and was elected student president in 1983. She died of cancer in 2013.
