Gabriele Schmelz (born September 30, 1946 in Berlin ) is a Berlin author.

Live and act

Gabriele Schmelz studied German, French and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin (1972 Magister Artium). She wrote and writes reviews and essays for radio ( Sender Freies Berlin (SFB), NDR , Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), Deutschlandfunk (DLF), RBB Kulturradio ), for newspapers and magazines (including everyday life. The sensations of the ordinary ) , Broadcast features. From 1979 to 1987 she was co-editor of the journal Literatur und Experience . From 1975 to 1979 she took part in a research project at the Free University of Berlin on the subject of literary socialization in German lessons . Gabriele Schmelz worked as an editorial assistant for the magazine for pedagogy and lecturer at adult education centers. She was co-author and assistant director for the feature film Marble, Stone and Iron Breaks by Hans Christof Stenzel , subtitled feature films in English. In 1998 she received a scholarship at the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf . Since 2006 she has looked after the artistic estate of the painter Janus Kadel , curated various exhibitions and created a catalog with an initial overview of his works. In 2014 she initiated the annual Berliner KunstNachlassBasar in the Goerz-Höfe, and in 2015 as part of the KulTour of the Südwestpassage.
