Gabriele Stenzinger-Hillardt
Gabriele Stenzinger-Hillardt , pseudonym G. Eichelberg (born September 20, 1840 in Prague , † March 5, 1913 in Mödling ) was an Austrian journalist and editor.
Live and act
Gabriele Stenzinger-Hillardt, daughter of Dr. Franz Karl Hillardt (inventor of stigmography and educator of Prince Ferdinand Kinsky) and married to Karl Stenzinger, an engineer at the municipal building authority since 1891, passed the teacher examination in French when his father settled in Vienna and attended a teacher training course of the Ursulines in Vienna. From 1870 she taught as a working teacher at the kk teacher training institute in Vienna and in October 1870 she became the examination commissioner for elementary and community schools and in 1972 she was the supervisor of the under the direction of Dr. Friedrich Ditte's standing urban pedagogue in Vienna. In the same year she was able to inspire the new director at the practice schools of the municipal teacher education, Martin Godai, for her idea of mass teaching and then promote it very successfully.
Stenzinger-Hillardt founded an extensive collection of samples for a wide variety of handicrafts at the Pädagogium. From 1893 to 1899 she was President of the Association of Industrial Teachers and Teachers of the French Language in Austria .
Journalistic work
In 1878 Stenzinger-Hillardt edited the work teacher . In 1886 the first edition of Die Arbeitslehrerin and her circle of duties was published with the course of the kk teacher training institute in Vienna and visual aids for all levels of manual labor instruction . From 1887 Stenzinger-Hillardt was editor of Frommes Mädchenkalender and was co-editor of the Jahreszeiten, a magazine for female youth .
Stenzinger-Hillardt also wrote the anthology The female handicraft in poetry (Hartleben, Vienna).
Awards
- Medal and diploma during the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 for the course she put together for female handicrafts for candidate teachers
- Honorary diploma and medal at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 for her Guide to Education and Teaching for Handicraft Teachers
- Honorary award for crocheted lace from the Berliner Modenblatt 1879
