It is one of the first animated series in the anime style , which was mainly produced in the United States. content

The series takes place in the year 2086, in which two emissaries from the worlds Andor and Kirwin traveled to earth to ask for help against the empire of the "Crown Queen". In return for assistance, humanity was given the hyperdrive that could travel interstellar distances. This led to the establishment of colonies outside the earth, but also to contact with new enemies. To counter these new threats, BETA was established to maintain or restore order in the new frontier country. BETA itself maintains main bases on earth, "BETA Mountain", the "Longshot Research Center" in the Grand Canyon and the BETA space station, a modern space fleet and a special unit, the Galaxy Rangers . Their mandate to maintain law and order is equipped with individual strengths.

characters

The Galaxy Ranger

All rangers are equipped with a bionic implant that activates or reinforces their respective special abilities. By touching the "ranger star" they activate this implant, which then releases stored energy to strengthen or activate the respective abilities. The implant must therefore be charged regularly.

Zacharias Foxx

"Zach" heads the ranger team and is 35 years old. When he activates his implant, he can run faster, he becomes stronger and can also fire an energy beam with his bionic arm. His wife was kidnapped by the Crown Queen and he tries to free her from captivity with the help of the ranger team. “Zach” has a son, Zach Jr., and a daughter, Jessica. When Foxx tried to prevent his wife from being kidnapped, he was seriously injured. His left arm and leg were replaced by bionic systems. There is also the "phase glove" through which Zach is able to grip solid matter for a few seconds.

Shane "Goose" Gooseman

Goose is not a human, but an artificially created form of life. The daredevil, gunslinger and womanizer is 19 years old. His implant gives him the opportunity to change his shape in order to avoid dangers. He is also able to heal himself with it. Goose and Niko like each other very much.

Walter "Doc" Hartfort

"Doc" Hartfort is in his late twenties and the gentleman of the team. He is nicknamed "Doc" because he is a doctor of computer science . He is a computer expert whose implant gives him the opportunity to design and use creative individual computer programs with the so-called CDU . These are called z. For example: "Lifeline", "Pathfinder", "Kobold", "Trigger" and "Tinkerer". He has a symbiotic association with Buzz.

Niko

She is in her early 20s and the mental strength of the team. Your instructor has trained her mental abilities to be able to levitate. Her implant amplifies her psychic powers, which enable her to erect a force shield against mental and physical attacks and to use a telekinesis beam. Niko can see past events of a place when she touches an object in the place. She can feel emotions and also transmit implant energy. There is a romantic tension between her and Goose throughout the series.

Minor characters

Commander Walsh

Commander Walsh is the commanding officer of the Galaxy Ranger and the military chief of BETA Mountain. He also forms the connection to the World Council , the government of the earth. He is known for occasionally interpreting the regulations in favor of the Galaxy Rangers. With his basic genetic material, he secretly provided the template for Shane.

Zozo

Zozo is a kiwi and resident of the planet Kirwin. The kiwis have very good gardening skills, are nimble and have very good hearing, which is not least due to their large ears.

Waldo Zeptic

Waldo is Andorian and comes from the planet Andor. He gave the people on earth the plans to recreate the Andorian hyperdrive. Andorians are very science oriented. Usually they are very rational and polite. However, when they are locked up, after a while they lose their minds and then behave like wild animals.

Buzzwang

"Buzz" is a robot that was created by Q-Ball. As the series progresses, he also becomes a Galaxy Ranger. He doesn't use weapons. Buzzwang and Doc are in special contact through Doc's implant.

Q ball

Q-Ball is a BETA technician and scientist. He invents new machines, drives, robots and the like. Q-Ball also developed and built Buzzwang. He is responsible for the technology and charging of the implants.

Eliza Foxx

Eliza is the wife of Zacharias Foxx. In the first episode of the series, she is kidnapped by the Crown Queen and robbed of her life energy by means of a psycho crystal. Using this crystal, the queen tries to influence Zacharias.

Cybersteeds

The Cybersteeds are the rangers' robot horses. They are called Triton, Voyager, Mel and Brutus, have artificial intelligence and can talk too. They were designed and built at the Longshot Research Center. The appearance is similar to that of horses and they can move around almost any terrain. The Cybersteeds are divided into categories:

  • The racing version, with which speeds up to 200 km / h can be reached (Triton is a racing version)
  • The combat version, which is provided with reinforced armor (Mel is a combat version)

All Cybersteeds have radar, infrared sensors, sonar, night vision and a bright spotlight.

Opponent

The Queen

The ruler of a star empire who has a large number of subordinates and a fleet of spaceships. However, the latter are slower than the ships of the Planetary League when it comes to bridging interstellar distances. Since the Crown Queen mainly needs her to hold her empire together, the fleet cannot be used for major attacks on the Planetary League. Therefore, she is particularly interested in the Andorian hyperdrive. To maintain her power, the queen needs the soul energy of other living beings, whose life force serves as a universal source of energy. They also feed their willless henchmen, "homunculi" or "slave guards" called. Some races have almost been exterminated by the queen because they give off a lot of life energy. Among the people she abducted is Zacharias Foxx's wife, which also makes her a target for the Galaxy Rangers .

Lazarus Slade

Lazarus is a renegade scientist and, among other things, a machinist and inventor in the service of the Queen. At one point he almost succeeds in destroying the planetary league's fleet. However, this plan can be thwarted with the help of Captain Kidd.

Captain Kidd

Kidd is an alien in the form of a bird and the captain of a wrecked pirate cruiser, which everyone can buy depending on the price. Mostly he is on the side of the Queen, although he sporadically switches to the side of the Galaxy Rangers whenever this seems useful to him for his own interests.

Scarecrow

Scarecrow is a creature of indefinable origin and species, but which the human eye undeniably associates with the appearance of a classic scarecrow. Scarecrow is a chronic criminal who works regularly for the Galaxy Rangers . His goal is to achieve immortality and limitless power.

Nimrod

Nimrod is a male cat / human hybrid of a slightly confused character in a strikingly colorful presentation. Nimrod also frequently changes his profession and goals. He often causes trouble for the Galaxy Rangers , but does not always do so with malicious intent. His paths often cross paths with those of the heroes rather by chance. The confused plans he continually hatches out often get him into trouble himself.
