Gale Page (actually Sally Perkins Rutter ; born July 29, 1913 in Spokane , Washington , † January 8, 1983 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American actress .

Life

Even before she started in the film business, Sally Rutter had taken on the stage name Gale Page. She performed as a singer with the Ted Weems orchestra . In 1938 the film studio Warner Bros. noticed her and took her under contract as an actress. She made her film debut at the side of Humphrey Bogart in the drama School of Crime . She was quickly committed to the role of decorative brunettes. The high point of her career was the role of Emma, ​​one of the four Lemp sisters in the musical comedy Father conducted by Michael Curtiz . Gale Page also played the role of Emma Lemp in the three sequels ( Four daughters clean up , Four Wives and Four Mothers ). Your film sisters were played by the real Lane sisters Priscilla , Rosemary and Lola .
