Lola Lane

Lola Lane (born May 21, 1906 in Macy , Indiana , † June 22, 1981 in Santa Barbara , California ; born Dorothy Mullican ) was an American actress .

Life

Dorothy Mullican was the second daughter of Dr. Lorenzo Mullican and Cora Bell Hicks . In 1928 she followed her sister, Leota Lane, who was three years her senior, to New York on Broadway , where they enjoyed great success together.

Her Hollywood career began in 1929 with the film Speakeasy . In 1937 she shot her best-known film Murder in the Nightclub on the side of Humphrey Bogart and Bette Davis . A year later, Father conducted , followed by her two younger sisters, Rosemary Lane and Priscilla Lane .

In 1946 she made her last film They made me a killer .

Lola Lane was married to actor Lew Ayres from 1931 to 1933 , to director Alexander Hall from 1934 to 1936 , to director Roland West from 1940 to 1952 and to director Robert Hanlon from 1955 until her death .
