Galina Krilenko

Galina Krilenko ( Galina Alexandrovna Krilenko ; born February 29, 1952 in Minsk ) is a Belarusian trainer of rhythmic gymnastics and from 1996 to 2014 was the head trainer at the Federal Training Center Fellbach-Schmiden ( TSV Schmiden ).

In the former Soviet Union , Krilenko was two-time world champion in the group.

Career as a trainer

Galina Krilenko's coaching career began at Dynamo Minsk, after which she graduated as a sports pedagogue. Her first great success was at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , when her protégé Marina Lobatsch won the gold medal with the highest grade. This was followed by numerous world and European championship titles for her Belarusian national team, of which she was the head coach until 1996.

In December 1996, Krilenko and her family moved to Fellbach-Schmiden, Germany , where she has been a coach at TSV Schmiden to date. She is currently training the German national team individually with Laura Jung and Jana Berezko-Marggrander .

In October 2014, Krilenko was released from her duties after allegations by a gymnast who reported a physical abuse during the 2011 World Cup. She then received a penalty warrant, which she appealed against. The court case was dropped in 2015 on grounds of minority.

With the German team, Krilenko already made it to the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
