Galleria Mendini is a residential and commercial building in downtown Lörrach . The house, built in 2003 and 2004, was conceptually designed by the Italian architect Alessandro Mendini from Milan, after whom the building was named.

history

After the renovation of the southern inner city area was completed with the establishment of the Migros supermarket and the center of the city center had shifted to the southern part, the aim was to remove the imbalance with the upgrading of Chesterplatz.

After the groundbreaking ceremony on December 10, 2002 with the participation of the then mayor Gudrun Heute-Bluhm and the architect Alessandro Mendini, construction actually began in February 2003 and was completed in July 2004. Because the house was originally planned as a shopping center , it was named Galleria . The architects of the building were the Milanese Atelier Mendini, who designed the facade, and the Rheinfeld architects Claudio Guida. In 2007 the house was completely occupied.
