The Gambia Swimming Association (GSA, until July 2013 Gambia Swimming and Aquatic Sports Association (GSASA)) is the association responsible for swimming in Gambia .

The association is a member of the world umbrella organization Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA), the continental association Confédération Africaine de Natation (CANA), the International Surfing Association (ISA, member since 2014) as well as the Gambian National Olympic Committee (GNOC) and the Gambia National Sports Council .

The seat of the organization is in Serrekunda .

history

The association was founded on February 19, 2011 on the initiative of Yahya Al Matarr Jobe, Yorro Njie and Cherno Krubally after there had been joint activities for swimming from 2008.

In July 2013, under the influence of the Gambian National Olympic Committee (GNOC), the association was renamed the Gambia Swimming Association .

In addition to regular training for members, the association organizes national championships every year. The first swimming championship took place in 2018 .

In addition, several regional and one national championship in open water swimming are organized, which is particularly well represented in the media:
