The Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) ( Gambian National Olympic Committee ) is the National Olympic Committee of Gambia . It represents and organizes the Olympic movement of the West African state. The GNOC was founded in 1972 as the " Gambia Olympic Association " and was accepted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1976 .
President is Abdoulie Dandeh-Njie . From 1976 to 1988 Omar Sey , the former Foreign Minister of the Gambia, was the President of the GNOC. He helped Gambia to take part in the 1984 Summer Olympics for the first time. Since then, Gambia has regularly participated in the Olympic Games .
The GNOC sent two athletes to the 2004 Olympic Games.
