Ganj Par is an old Paleolithic site in the Gilan Province in Iran .

The site was discovered by a team of archaeologists from the Center for Paleolithic Studies of the National Museum of Iran in 2002. It is located on an old river bank of the Sefid Rud . About 150 artifacts from limestone , igneous rock and sandstone were seized in Gandsch par. Artifacts found include hand axes , cleavers, hoes , choppers, and smaller tools made from splinters. Some similarities between these Achelean stone tools could be established with finds in the Caucasus . The finds in Ganj Par indicate that Iran is part of the Acheulean territory. The old Paleolithic cave site of the Darband Cave is located east of Ganj Par.
