The Gannett Peak is 4,207 meters above sea level, the highest elevation in the US - state of Wyoming .

Gannett Peak is in western Fremont County , right on the border with Sublette County . It is both the highest point in Wyoming and the highest point of the Wind River Range , a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains . The mountain range runs in the west of the US state Wyoming from the northwest to the southeast and forms part of the continental divide of North America and the southeastern border of the Yellowstone National Park over a length of around 190 kilometers .
The ridge region of the mountain range is almost completely designated as a wilderness reserve. To the west of the watershed lies the Bridger Wilderness , in the northeast the Fitzpatrick Wilderness and in the southeast the Popo Agie Wilderness . On the east side, the Wind River Indian Reservation , a reserve of the Eastern Shoshone and Arapaho Indians, extends to the summit ridge.
