The Ganot ( 3102 m above sea level , according to other information 3104 m ) is a mountain peak in the Schober group in East Tyrol . It is located in the southern area of the municipality of Kals am Großglockner . Neighboring peaks are the Ralfkopf in the east and the Debantgrat in the southeast, whereby the Ganot is separated from the Ralfkopf by the Ralfkees. The Ganot was first climbed on August 24, 1870 by O. Simoni and his two mountain guides G. Gorgasser and J. Hutter.
Promotion opportunities
The Ganot is easiest to reach from the Ralftal, with access to the Ralftal either from the north from the Lesachalmhütte or from the south via the Schobertörl. The easiest approach to the Ganot is then via the west-facing cirque between the Ganot and the Ralfkopf. The unmarked path leads first to Ralfkees and then over the southeast slope to the left of the glacier to the summit. The way from the Lesachalmhütte to the summit takes around 4.5 hours and has practically no climbing spots. Another way to climb the Ganot is the north ridge, which, however, has climbing points of difficulty II .
