Gaoyou
Gaoyou ( Chinese 高邮 市 , Pinyin Gāoyóu Shì ) is an independent city in the administrative area of the independent city of Yangzhou in the Chinese province of Jiangsu . It has an area of 1,962 km² and has around 820,100 inhabitants (end of 2009).
The Yucheng Post (Yuchengyi Post 城 驿) from the Ming Dynasty (now a Postal Museum), the Longqiuzhuang site (Longqiuzhuang yizhi 龙 虬 庄 遗址) and the Gaoyou Pawn Shop (Gaoyou dangpu 高邮 当铺) from the Qing Dynasty are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .
