Garry Miles , actually James "Buzz" Cason , (* 27. November 1939 in Nashville , Tennessee ) is an American rhythm and blues - singer , composer of the early 1960s and racing driver .

Life

Garry Miles appeared under his maiden name James "Buzz" Cason with the group The Statues, who had a chart hit in 1959 with the song Blue Velvet . As a soloist, he reached number 16 in the US charts with his single Look For A Star in 1960 . Under the name Buzz Cason he wrote in 1967, along with Mac Gayden the song Everlasting Love , in the version of the group The Love Affair in 1968 in the UK No. 1 on the British charts landed.

Miles also worked as a backing singer for Elvis Presley and Kenny Rogers. In 1970 he founded Creative Workshop, a recording studio where Dolly Parton , Jerry Reed , Merle Haggard , Doobie Brothers , Emmylou Harris and Olivia Newton-John recorded.
