The former inn "Zur Krone" is a half-timbered house in Niederdollendorf , a district of the city of Königswinter in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district , which was built in the 17th century. It is a listed building as a monument .

location

The corner house is traufständig to the main road (number 110) and gable constantly Rheinstrasse at the western terminus of the Heisterbacher road at a crossroads similar square, the former marketplace . To the north opposite is the Niederdollendorfer parish church .

history

According to a year below the corner post on the upper floor, the building was built in 1667. It served as an inn from 1844 at the latest , making it the oldest in Niederdollendorf. Around 1900 the building was expanded to include a hall with a bowling alley . During the renovation of the parish church opposite, the Catholic service was held in the hall of the inn in 1969/70. In 1985, a plaque was unveiled at the inn by the mayor of Königswinter's twin town Cleethorpes in Great Britain, with which the partnership of three restaurants in Königswinter with three pubs in North East Lincolnshire is pointed out. The house was entered in the monuments list of the city of Königswinter on September 27, 1989. It was used as an inn until it was closed in spring 2015 and converted into a purely residential building in 2018, including eight apartments.

architecture

The house is built in frame construction. The upper floor protrudes slightly. The windows on the ground floor were originally smaller and on the upper floor they were not arranged as two windows as they are now. The upper floor has an ornamental framework , the struts of which are nosed and curved like the head wood. Another decorative element of this floor is a carved mask on the corner stand . The former probably repeatedly projecting gable end of the house was in the upper floor and attic recently verschiefert (previously plastered). The rear hall extension from 1900 is a brick building .
