The Gauliga Mittelrhein 1938/39 was the sixth season of the Gauliga Mittelrhein of the German Football Association . The Gauliga was played in a group of ten teams in a round- robin tournament this season. The Gaume Championship was secured for the first time by SpVgg Sülz only due to the better goal quotient that was valid at the time compared to SSV Troisdorf 05 . This qualified the Cologne for the German soccer championship 1938/39 , in which they were in a group with Fortuna Düsseldorf and Viktoria Stolpreached second place, which was not enough to advance. Since the Gauliga was increased to 13 teams in the next season, there were no relegated teams this season.
