Gavin Hoover (born July 12, 1997 in Manhattan Beach ) is an American cyclist who competes on the road and track .

Athletic career

In 2014, Gavin Hoover finished tenth at Paris-Roubaix for juniors. In the same year he became the American junior champion in the singles pursuit . He spent six months in Belgium to compete in more races in Europe , but then returned home feeling homesick . There he was accepted into the US Team Pursuit program .

As of 2017, Hoover mainly trained on the track. In 2017 he became the national team pursuit champion for the first time . The following year, the US four-man Pan American championship, and Hoover won the silver medal in the singles pursuit. In 2019, Hoover, Adrian Hegyvary , John Croom and Ashton Lambie won the team pursuit at the 2019 Pan American Games ; Hoover and Hegyvary took second place in the two-man team event . At the UCI Track World Championships 2020 in Berlin , Hoover finished seventh in the Omnium.
