Gayle Forman (born June 5, 1970 in Los Angeles ) is an American writer.

Life

Gayle Forman studied journalism at the University of Oregon . She first worked as a journalist for “Seventeen Magazine” and later also worked for Cosmopolitan , Glamor , The Nation and Elle . In 2002 she went on a trip around the world with her husband, which became the basis for her first book "You Can't Get There from Here". Forman published her first novel “Sisters in Sanity” in 2007. Her book “ If I Stay ” was filmed in 2014 under the same title . She lives in Brooklyn , New York with her husband and daughters .
