Gaziler (formerly: Dayista) is one of the 33 villages in the Türkeli district of the Turkish province of Sinop .

It is made up of the village parts Gaziler, Eyrit, Domuzgölü, Göller and Karsi. Gaziler borders in the north on Düzler, in the east on Düzköy, in the south on Yeşiloba and in the west on Turhan. At the last census in 2008, the population of Gaziler was 173. To date, the population has fallen sharply due to emigration and deaths. The number of people from the village is estimated at around 2000. The distance to Türkeli is 7 km.

The village lies on the back of a 400 meter high elevation. The highest point of the village is the top of Kiran-Tepe, a 600 meter high wooded mountain. The area not used for agriculture is heavily forested. The proportion of the agricultural area is atypically large for the Black Sea region . Wheat and corn are the main crops. Hazelnuts, plums, mulberries, grapes are other products. The soil is suitable for planting tomatoes, cucumbers, pumpkins, aubergines, spinach, beans and much more

Cows, bulls, water buffalo, sheep, horses, donkeys and chickens are kept or bred in the courtyards of the village.

Little is known about the early history of the village. However, finds directly at the village indicate a foundation in antiquity. Until the 19th century the entire population consisted of Greeks. These were resettled to Greece under the Turkish-Greek exchange agreement , while Albanians from the Balkans took possession of their houses and countries, most of which later moved away.

Turkish settlement began very late, when Tatars of Turkish origin were settled from Crimea in the early 19th century. These were five families, whose descendants make up the majority of the population. In addition, few Muslim-Georgian families live in the village.

Hüsnü Günay has been the mayor since 2009. In the new elections on June 7, 2009, he won against his opponent Hamdi Özcan by 13 votes. The reason for the new elections was that on the day of the local elections, the election winner Ramazan Ünal had not been living in Gaziler for at least 6 months. The previous mayor, Haydar Göksu, renounced his candidacy in the new elections on June 7, 2009. During Haydar Göksu's tenure, the main road to Türkeli was paved and a tap water network was set up. The telephone network has been in operation since 1996, while the village was connected to the public electricity network in 1978. Public institutions are a mosque in the village center, a primary school and a multi-purpose building.
