Gebhard Friedrich Casimir von der Schulenburg , also Gebhardt Friedrich Casimir von der Schulenburg (born April 15, 1734 in Weßmar , † September 17, 1798 in Lauchstädt ) was an electoral Saxon and royal Polish chamberlain , chief forest and hunter master and manor owner.

Life

He came from the Brandenburg noble family von der Schulenburg and was the only child of Otto Casimir von der Schulenburg and his wife Helena Felicitas von der Schulenburg, born von Veltheim . Gebhard Friedrich Casimir was baptized as a Protestant on April 17, 1734 in the church of Weßmar. His 24 godparents included the Prussian general Graf von der Schulenburg on Beetzendorf, the treasurer of Bartensleben on Wolfsburg, the councilor of Burckersroda on Kötzschau, the Merseburg canon of Alvensleben on Klosterrode, the chamberlain from Zanthier on Zschernitz, Herr von Bose on Ermlitz and other noble people.

When Gebhard Friedrich Casimir von der Schulenburg was eight years old, his father, who made him a universal heir, died. As ordered by the father, the mother initially took over the administration of the Weßmar manor until Gebhard Friedrich Casimir von der Schulenburg had reached the age of 21 and was therefore of legal age. In the meantime, his mother had married Lieutenant Colonel von Schmertzing, who became his stepfather.

Most recently, Gebhard Friedrich Casimir von der Schulenburg was Oberhofjägermeister and estate director, also chief inspector of all rafts in the Electorate of Saxony and lived in Bärenfels in the Eastern Ore Mountains . He died of a stroke while on a business trip to the Lauchstädt office on the morning of September 17, 1798.

In 1781 he married Christiane Henriette Wilhelmine, the daughter of Chamberlain Johann Heinrich von Helldorf on St. Ulrich. The two children that resulted from this marriage were underage at the time of his death. According to Schulenburg's family history, he only had one daughter, but he also had the son Johann Heinrich Samuel von der Schulenburg and a second daughter.
