Otto Casimir von der Schulenburg

Otto Casimir von der Schulenburg (born February 10, 1705 , † February 4, 1743 in Weßmar ) was an electoral Saxon and royal Polish chamberlain, canon of Merseburg and manor owner.

Life

He came from the Brandenburg noble family von der Schulenburg and was the second son of Johann Casimir von der Schulenburg and his wife Katharina Margaretha nee von Pfuhl. Together with his brother Levin Friedrich von der Schulenburg, he took over the Liebsdorf estate after their father's death, which they both sold in order to be able to go their separate ways.

In 1731 Otto Casimir von der Schulenburg acquired the manor Weßmar, inherited from their mother in 1727, from the von Zweymen brothers , which he expanded into the center of his family's life.

In 1735 he is mentioned as Canon of Merseburg in the Saxon court and state calendar.

Otto Casimir von der Schulenburg died a few days before his 38th birthday and was buried on February 7, 1743 in the church in Weßmar.

His wife was Helena Felicitas von der Schulenburg, née von Veltheim, with whom he had their son Gebhard Friedrich Casimir von der Schulenburg (1734–1798), who took over his father's possession and was chief forest and hunter master in Bärenfels in the Eastern Ore Mountains .
