Gebhard von Hoym (* before 1428; † December 17, 1484 ) was Bishop of Halberstadt from 1458 to 1479 .

Gebhard came from the Anhalt noble family of the Counts of Hoym . He was first mentioned in 1428 as a Halberstadt canon on the occasion of his matriculation at the University of Erfurt . He was probably provost of the Liebfrauenstift in Halberstadt and in 1445 became provost of Walbeck .

In March 1458 he was elected Bishop of Halberstadt, the confirmation by the Pope took place on August 9th, 1458. Gebhard resided in Gröningen and cared little about his official duties, which was considered with mockery during his lifetime. He did not succeed in protecting the cities of his diocese from attacks by the neighboring Counts of Hohnstein , Schwarzburg and Henneberg . In the conflict with the Saxon dukes over Quedlinburg , he lost all rights in the city. In 1479 he resigned from his office, received a pension of 500 guilders and the Wegeleben Castle . After his death in 1484 he was buried in the Huysburg monastery .
