Location of mountains in Saxony

Berge is a district of Beiersdorf and lies between the main town of Beiersdorf and the municipality of Oppach on the S 152 in a northerly direction.

geography

location

The district is visibly divided into two settlement groups on the mountain stream. One of them, the back corner, extends in a narrow brook valley up to the Bielebohwald . The other, called the front corner, stretches between meadows and gardens on the slope down to Oppacher Straße. A high plateau with steeply sloping edges, called Heidelberg, separates the district from the neighboring district of Eichen in the municipality of Oppach. Many houses in the village are single-storey, often with surrounding structures . Some of them are two-story, like the massive manor house No. 1 on the street. It shows an entrance with the year 1848 with machined granite walls and paneled door.

history

After the Schmiedenthal district , the mountain settlement is the second extension of Beiersdorf, which was created by a Beiersdorf manor. Construction sites were assigned here from the middle of the 18th century. In his chronicle of 1840, Carl Leberecht Haase writes of "a group of around 40 houses".

In the census of May 9, 2011, the mountains consisted of 66 residential buildings in which 189 people lived. The average age was 45.7 years.
