Gebrüder Engel is a band formed by Thomas Engel (nee Paßmann) (voc / guitar), Bertram Engel (nee Paßmann), (voc / drums), Steffi Stephan , (bass guitar) and Karl Allaut (lead guitar) Founded. After the albums brothers Angel and scandal Allaut left the band, but Jim Voxx (guitar) and the poet Axel Schulz were added as a second vocalist. After the production of their most successful album Magengesicht , Bertram Engel, who was already a permanent member of Udo Lindenberg's Panikorchester , left the band to accept an offer from Peter Maffay , where he drums, sings and writes to this day, just like for Lindenberg and produces. Between 1976 and 1988 the band from Münster released six LPs - four of them designed by Lo Graf von Blickensdorf , and two more followed in 1993 and 2012. Numerous well-known musicians from the German rock and studio scene such as Keith Forsey , Herb Geller , Alex Conti , Dennis Uphoff , Otto Rasche , David Weiss and Doc Heyne were among the members of the often changing line-up that started with Sie (from the album Magengesicht ) , a warning of the rise of right-wing populism , released their best-known song. Other well-known songs are Klau, lies and kotz (Bildzeitungsong), which caused a sensation at the 1st Rock Against Right Festival in Frankfurt in 1979, Talented , Smoking in Bed and Die Rede (Germany is democratic) .
