The iron foundry Gebr. Schreitel GmbH & Co. KG was a medium-sized iron foundry in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt . In addition to manhole covers and manhole covers , the company also cast memorial plaques .
history
The company was founded in 1946 by the brothers Wilhelm and Waldemar Schreitel and existed in Peiner Straße until 1994 .
Works
- In 2008 the oldest nephew of the brothers, Eugen Sorokin, gave the city of Salzgitter a total of twenty cast models with the coats of arms of the cities of Salzgitter and their partner cities Gotha , Imatra , Swindon , Staryj Oskol and Créteil on permanent loan. The models are exhibited in the horse stable of Salder Castle , the museum of the city of Salzgitter, in the section “From ore to steel”.
- At the Lichtenberg castle ruins , a memorial plaque from the production of the Schreitel brothers was put up on the Gaußstein in the Lichtenberg Mountains, honoring the geodesists Carl Friedrich Gauß .
- A plaque made by Schreitel for Wilhelm Wassmuss was attached to a memorial stone at a bus stop in Ohlendorf .
