The Gegenblättrige fritillary ( Fritillaria involucrata ) is a plant from the family of the lily family (Liliaceae). It is very rich in form.
description
The opposite-leaved chess flower is a perennial , herbaceous bulb plant that reaches heights of 15 to 30 centimeters. The 7 to 10 leaves are opposite and linear-lanceolate to linear. The top 3 leaves are lively. Usually there is a flower, rarely up to 3. The outside of the tepals is light green with a brown checkerboard pattern, there is no clear green central stripe. The nectar glands are blackish and egg-shaped. The stylus are 12 to 15 millimeters long, the stylus branches 5 to 7 millimeters.
The flowering period extends from April to May.
Occurrence
The opposite-leaved chess flower occurs in north-west Italy and south-east France in the Maritime Alps. It grows on mountain meadows at altitudes of 500 to 1500 meters.
