The 456 m high Gehilfersberg is a circular basalt cone north-west of Rasdorf and belongs to the Hessian skittles game . Around 1580 there was a cross on its top, popularly known as “St. Gehülff “was called. In 1656 the mountain was officially named "Hülffenberg". From the 18th century the Gehilfersberg is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in East Hesse.

Around 1630 the pilgrimage chapel “St. Maria and fourteen helpers in need ”. The architectural style still belongs to the (late) Gothic , but can also be considered a forerunner of the early Neo-Gothic . The chapel has two-part tracery windows of Gothic origin. The carved wood baroque altar dominates the interior fittings. A way of the cross with 14 station houses leads around the chapel . In 1996 the chapel fell victim to an arson attack, but was rebuilt in great detail the following year.

The forested mountain is used as a cemetery forest in the southeastern part .
