history

The company was founded in Eilenburg in 1935 by Paul Geißler senior. Initially, only worker lines and occasional trips were offered. In 1945 wood gasification buses were used in regular service. The family business was nationalized in 1972 to VEB Kraftverkehr Grimma. 18 years later, the Geißler family took over the company again and a new start was made with five Ikarus buses. In 1993 the first company-owned travel agency was opened in Eilenburg. The premises of the former Eilenburger construction machinery works were handed over to Busverkehr Geißler GmbH in 1998. In 2004 another travel agency was opened in Wurzen.
