Vulture evening

The vulture evening is an annual event in Dortmund . At this alternative carnival , a carnival pomp session is satirized .

The participants are solo artists who come together for this production. The organizer is the independent theater Fletch Bizzel , which organized the first vulture evening in 1992. Since then, the number of viewers has grown continuously. The vulture evening takes place in the premises of the Zeche Zollern . A total of around 40 events take place each year, mostly during the carnival season between January and March. In summer there is also a three-day open-air festival in a Dortmund beer garden. In addition to the "Original Jallermann-Klangtett", the show band and the "Panneköppen", the focus of the session is on the figure of the " Steigers ". He moderates the event and awards the “Pannekopp of the year” to “deserving” personalities from politics and entertainment every year. The order, consisting of 28.5 kilograms of rusty steel, has not yet been accepted by almost all of the winners in accordance with the statutes. Only the 2009 prize winner, Franz-Josef Drabig, appeared at the award ceremony and hung the medal on before the rejection.
