Günter Rückert

Günter Rückert (* 1952 in Löningen , Oldenburg ) is a German painter , caricaturist , graphic artist , author and director . Since 1997 he has been staging the Dortmund " Geierabend ".

Life

Günter Rückert has been artistically active since 1975. Various journals and magazines published his cartoons early on; as a cabaret artist he was a co-founder of the group " N8chtschicht ". At the same time he studied German , theater studies and history in Bochum , where he received his doctorate in 1985. A year later he decided to go full-time for art. His extensive work includes graphics, etchings , book illustrations and work with independent theater groups. Since 1997 he has directed the satirical Dortmund "Geierabend", writes texts and programs for it and has been chairman of the Westphalian Artists' Association in Dortmund since 2009.
