The Geikie nunatak is a 1,100 m high nunatak in the East Antarctic Coatsland . In the Shackleton Range it rises 5 km west of Mount Absalom at the southwest end of the Herbert Mountains .
Aerial photographs were taken in 1967 by the United States Navy ; the British Antarctic Survey carried out measurements of the Nunatak between 1968 and 1971. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1972 after the British geologist James Geikie (1839-1915).
