Districts of Aachen
The districts of Aachen are sub-areas of the city of Aachen . The subdivision of the urban area into districts serves as the basis for keeping the land register .

There are 12 districts within the city of Aachen. The district "Aachen" corresponds to the urban area of the 19th century, the remaining districts essentially to the areas incorporated into Aachen at the end of the 19th and in the course of the 20th century and partly to the correspondingly named city districts of Aachen .
