The Genesis G80 is a sedan from the Genesis brand belonging to the Hyundai Motor Company . The vehicle is the brand's second model after the larger G90 . It is considered the successor to the almost identical Hyundai Genesis . The G80 differs from this, among other things, through a new front design and new rear lights. The vehicle is built in Ulsan, South Korea . The G80 also provides the technical basis for the Kia Stinger .
history
The sedan was presented at the North American International Auto Show in January 2016 in Detroit . The vehicle has been sold in South Korea since July 2016, the American market followed in September 2016. In Russia, the G80 went on sale in March 2017. In Germany, the Hyundai Genesis will not have a successor for the time being. Genesis does not plan to enter the European and Chinese markets until the end of 2019 with a new model.
Technical specifications
A total of five petrol engines are available on the drive side . Globally, only the 272 kW (370 hp) 3.3-liter turbo engine known from the G90 is offered. A 2.2-liter diesel engine with 149 kW (203 hp) has also been available in South Korea since February 2018 .
