life and career

Gennadi Bondaruk was born in Brest in the Belarusian SSR in 1965 . As a teenager he started playing football in Pizunda and later switched to a sports boarding school in Rostov-on-Don .

After graduating from school, he played at various lower-class clubs, including Atommasch Volgodonsk , Torpedo Taganrog and Dinamo Gagra .

Ultimately, the defender was signed in 1987 by Gurija Lanchuti , where he spent his first season in the Vysschaya League , the highest Soviet league. In 1989 he moved to Dinamo Sukhumi , where he stayed until 1990.

Then Bondaruk came to Shemchushina Sochi , where he met his old teammate Roman Chagba . Bondaruk remained in Sochi until 1999, spending most of his career there. When the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, and with it its league system, his club played first-class from the 1993 season .

For Shemchushina he completed a total of 247 league games, which is an internal record to this day. In 1999 his club had to go downhill. For the 2000 season Bondaruk moved to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , where he let his active career end in 2001.

He then moved to the office of coach. In 2003, Bondaruk took over his old club Schemchuschina Sotschi as an assistant coach, which he also held from 2008 to 2009. From 2012 to 2013 he was the coach of Dynamo Barnaul .
