Gennady Stanislavovich Tschurilow ( Russian Геннадий Станиславович Чурилов * 5. May 1987 in Magnitogorsk , Russian SFSR , † 7. September 2011 in Tunoschna in Yaroslavl ) was a Russian ice hockey player , who during his career including for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in the Continental Hockey League played.

Career

Gennady Churilov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , for whose second team he was active in the third-rate Pervaya League in the 2003/04 season . The winger then played for the Remparts de Québec in the Canadian junior league QMJHL for a year before returning to his Russian homeland. There he played for three years for the professional team of Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the Superliga , the highest Russian division. In the 2007/08 season , the former junior international was runner-up with his team.

From the 2008/09 season Tschurilow stood for Lokomotive Yaroslavl in the newly founded Continental Hockey League on the ice. In their premiere season he failed with Lokomotive only in the playoff final for the Gagarin Cup with 3: 4 wins in the best-of-seven series at Ak Bars Kazan . In the 2009/10 season he received the KHL's Ironman Award as the player with the most appearances in the last three years. On September 7, 2011, he was killed in a plane crash near Yaroslavl .

International

For Russia , Churilov took part in the junior division of the U20 World Junior Championships in 2006 and 2007 . In both tournaments he and his team won the silver medal. In the senior sector he was in his country's squad for the Euro Hockey Tour in 2011 .
