Geoffrey Copleston

Geoffrey Copleston (born March 18, 1921 in Manchester , † 1999 ) was a British actor .

Life

Copleston got his first film role through his acquaintance with director King Vidor at the age of 35, when he played a French officer in War and Peace . Almost ten years later, the stocky, bulky Copleston began a career as a character actor in Italy after he was responsible for the English-language version of Sergio Corbucci's Django , which led him to work as a military, hotel manager, police officer, tourist or corrupt politician until the mid-1990s showed. In the six-part television series about "Jack Clementi", Copleston played "Mr. Winter Bottom ".

Copleston also worked as a translator of several books from Italian into English.
