The red phantom is a previously undefeated wrestler . In a competition he competes against Tiger, who also has an incredible winning streak. During the course of the fight, Tiger had a fatal accident. Shocked by the loss of his friend, he finds himself in an emotionally tense situation. His friend Lidia contacts their mutual friend Joseph. He hires the phantom as a secret agent. In addition to its superhuman strength, the phantom has other abilities. It is able to hold its breath for up to seven minutes, endure extreme heat and cold, survive electrical discharges of over 2000 volts and, thanks to its high healing powers, is immune to knife and bullet injuries.
A secret organization that has already attacked several ships and stole their cargo, mercury and uranium , is to be used. Even when it is first used, the phantom is attacked by henchmen who probably got an insider tip. By faking his death, the phantom can escape the situation. He tells Joseph that he suspects they have an informer in their own ranks.
Thanks to a radar that can detect high levels of radio activity, the Phantom finds the secret base of Diabolikus. This transforms mercury into pure gold with the help of radioactivity . In doing so, he wants to cause global inflation . The phantom is captured and tortured, but is able to escape. Meanwhile, Diabolikus has Lidia captured. Since she had a camera with her, the phantom soon found her way to the other secret base and was able to free his girlfriend. Government troops soon pour into the base and the fleeing Diabolikus is killed.

The film was received mostly negatively. The representation of the masked phantom is interpreted as a wrong translation of the word comic into funny . The phantom's reason for getting by as an agent (in order to distract himself because of the murder of his friend Tiger during a fight) is rated as implausible, since the phantom as an agent murders many henchmen. In terms of character, it is described as "nominally on the side of the good (d), but as the film describes him, he is nothing more than a pretty murderous psychopath". Words of praise were found for the action.
